Drama
Our Drama program offers students the opportunity to explore their creativity through acting, improvisation, and storytelling. We focus on building confidence, communication skills, and empathy as students perform in front of their peers and engage in collaborative projects. By participating in drama, children gain valuable skills in self-expression and teamwork while having fun in a supportive environment.

Free Book Exchange Library
Parents and students are very welcome to swap and borrow their personal books from the Book Exchange Library, a small collection which is mounted to the wall on the eastern exit of the School’s Library. This encourages students to make some of their favourite reads someone elses. We hope to foster a sense of community through reading and sharing anonymously with each other.
Music
At St. Thomas’, our Music program provides a dynamic and enriching experience where students learn to appreciate and create music across various genres. Students develop their musical skills, rhythm, and ear for melody. Our music curriculum fosters a love for the arts and encourages students to express themselves creatively while working together in ensembles.
Science
Our Science curriculum at St Thomas’ encourages curiosity and hands-on exploration through engaging experiments and inquiry-based activities. Students investigate the natural world and its processes, developing essential skills in observation, analysis, and scientific reasoning. We aim to instil a lifelong love for Science and a deep understanding of its relevance to everyday life and future studies.
Physical Education & Sport
In Physical Education at St. Thomas’, we emphasise the importance of physical fitness, teamwork, and healthy living. Our program includes a variety of sports, fitness activities, and motor skill development, tailored to meet the needs of all students. Through active participation, children build confidence, learn about fair play, hone their skills for use in sport, and cultivate a positive attitude towards maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Visual Arts
Our Visual Arts program inspires creativity and self-expression through a diverse range of mediums and techniques. Students explore painting, drawing, sculpture, and digital art, guided by passionate educators who nurture each child’s artistic talent. Our curriculum is designed to foster an appreciation for the visual arts while developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Languages: Chinese
My Chinese Teacher is a comprehensive language and culture program that connects our students with native-speaking Mandarin teachers based in China.
Using the latest video conferencing technology, the language teacher (based in Beijing) runs a program that has been designed to align with the Australian Curriculum, with adjustments for WA-specific requirements.
By engaging our students and taking them beyond the four walls of the classroom, we provide context for learning the language and the skills to equip them for a truly global world.
After the video conference lesson, the classroom teacher conducts follow-up activities with the students to further consolidate their learning.
This Program is run in Years 3 to 6, and lessons occur once a week for each class.

We have an evolving range of fiction and non-fiction books, graphic novels available for students to borrow. All children across the school, from Kindergarten to Year 6 borrow books each week. Kindergarten to Year 1 can borrow 2 books per week, Year 2-5 can borrow up to 3 books and Year 6 who have their own Senior Collection may borrow up to 4 books.
Please make sure your child has a library bag to protect their books. These are available online from the Uniform Shop. Parents are encouraged to have their child’s books ready for their return on Mondays or Tuesdays (dependent on the timetable) and to assist in making sure all books are returned on time. Parents are always welcome to visit the library, especially during Book Week which is celebrated each August. During the week there is a special day of dressing up, parades, prizes and literature related activities.
Orbit is the library catalogue which can be accessed within the school through the Library student access computers, iPads and other devices or simply through your devices at home or on the go.
