We then walked through Fremantle past the University of Notre Dame to the harbour for a tour of the Duyfken Replica Ship. This was very educational as we are learning about the First Fleet as part of our History Curriculum. Our tour guides told us a lot of interesting facts such as the Duyfken was originally a Pirate Ship, spices that were traded and the conditions on the ship.

We then went to Cicerellos for the Aquarium Tour.  Firstly we participated in a beachcombing session finding lots of sea-life then had lots of fun making
sandcastles. After that we were able to visit the touch pool and hold animals such as starfish, crayfish and even a shark!

After that we visited the Maritime Museum. Here we saw the wreck of the Batavia, old artifacts and many historical items.  At the end we enjoyed dressing up in pirate costumes!

news 2 3We finished off with a play at the Esplanade Park . It was wonderful to see the children laughing so much and playing so nicely together. We then caught the train back to school arriving back to school at 3’o’clock. Such an exciting and busy day of learning and having fun together as a class. Thank you so much to my two fantastic parent helpers and also to the children for being well behaved and having beautiful manners! So many of them said thank you at the end of the day, delightful!
